Between stadium construction, limited on-site spaces, and the usual downtown congestion, getting to Nissan Stadium by car can turn into a headache real quick. That’s why we are here to help you skip the stress and cruise into game day the easy way—with our favorite ways to park (or not park!) and still get to the stadium in style.
1. Game Day Water Taxi
Let’s start with our personal favorite: the Game Day Water Taxi, brought to you by Pontoon Saloon and Nashville Water Taxi. It’s more than just transportation—it’s an experience. Departing from Lock One Marina just two miles downriver, the water taxi offers a scenic, affordable, and downright fun way to arrive at the game. No fighting traffic, no circling for spots—just a smooth ride on the Cumberland, ending with a drop-off right next to the Bridge Building, steps from the stadium gates. Plus, with easy parking and grass fields at the marina, tailgating before you even board is totally encouraged.
Multiple departure times give you the flexibility to plan your day, whether you’re the early tailgater type or rolling in closer to kickoff.
2. Davidson County Courthouse or The Nashville Public Library
If you’re more of a downtown explorer and want to soak up some Broadway energy before heading to the stadium, parking near the Davidson County Courthouse or the Nashville Public Library is a solid option. These locations usually offer $15 parking on game day and put you about a mile from Nissan Stadium. It’s a bit of a walk, but you’ll get to enjoy the city atmosphere on your way in. Just be prepared for some congestion before and after the game—and note that tailgating isn’t allowed in these lots.
3. Music City Center Garage
Another central option is the Music City Center garage. This is a clean, well-lit facility located just over a mile from the stadium, and it puts you right in the middle of downtown. It’s a good pick if you plan on doing dinner or drinks nearby before or after the game. The tradeoff? Higher parking rates and no space for tailgating. Still, if convenience and comfort are your priorities, this spot delivers.
4. Main Event Parking
Now, if your game day isn’t complete without a grill, cooler, and some parking lot camaraderie, you’ll want to head over to East Nashville. Main Event Parking, just over a half-mile from Nissan Stadium, is a favorite among fans looking to make the most of their pre-game experience. It’s tailgate-friendly, well-organized, and offers a lively fan environment for around $40 per vehicle. The 15–20 minute walk to the stadium is a fair trade for the full tailgate experience.
5. WeGo Star Commuter Train
Lastly, if you’re coming from outside the city and want to skip driving altogether, the WeGo Star Commuter Train offers a comfortable ride into downtown with free parking at the station. Tickets are $17, and while there’s only one post-game departure time (about an hour after the final whistle), it’s an easy, relaxed way to get to the game without dealing with traffic. Once you arrive, it’s just a short walk across the pedestrian bridge and into the stadium.
With all the changes happening around Nissan Stadium, especially during construction, it’s more important than ever to plan ahead. Traditional parking is limited, and tailgating space is tighter than in past seasons—but that just means it’s time to get creative.
